Meet your 2026 Executive

Say hello to our executive team for 2026! We’re all passionate theatre-heads with a wide range of experience keen on making theatre and celebrating the work of young creatives. So come talk to us and ask about how to get involved!

We’re always available to chat, but to contact the exec as a whole, email us at sudsthewash@gmail.com

Alex Butler | President (SHE/HER)

Hello everyone, my name is Alex and I’m so excited to be your SUDS president for 2026!!! I am a Bachelor of Arts student who has been involved with SUDS since the beginning of my degree. I have acted in SUDS plays as well as staged my own and have fallen in love with our incredible society. I am so keen for an awesome year of student theatre - hopefully staging a bunch of originals - and aim to cultivate a lovely culture of inclusion and heaps of fun! I look forward to seeing you all around xxxx

Jasper Reucassel | VICE-President (HE/HIM)

Hello there I am Jasper a first year TAPS student who spends more time in the Cellar than in any lecture hall. I have a disney plus account, a blue tie-dye oodie and a love for Denise Gough in People, Places and Things. If you need something ask Alex. If you need it slightly less ask me.

Zoe Gelagin | Treasurer (SHE/HER)

Hi hi hi! I’m Zoe, a second year Economics/Arts student and SUDS treasurer. Despite what my title suggests, I don’t have a weathered map that will lead you to riches beyond your wildest imagination - but I do have a spreadsheet that can buy you food at flodge, which is just as good.

If you have a money question, want to chat about SUDS or you’ve found my secret stranger things editing tiktok, reach out! I get my own email (sudsthewallet@gmail.com), or you can usually find me hovering around the cellar asking “do you have a receipt for that??”.

Antigone Marchbank | Secretary (She/HER)

Have you ever sat alone at home and wondered how do I book the Cellar Theatre? Who do I even ask? Is there somebody specifically out there who has an affinity for comedy, writing, Shakespeare and could answer ALL these questions??? Well yes!! Yasou, My name is Antigone, I study English as well as TAPS and oh me oh my would I be delighted to help you take temporary and pre-approved residence in the Cellar. As your 2026 Secretary I’d be thrilled to help you with all things booking related, as well as any general society questions you may have! Please feel free to reach out via our email: sudsthewash@gmail.com I love a good chat and am mandated to minute all of our meetings, so come say hello while I type away with a speed never before seen to try and capture the creative outpourings of the rest of our members. And as I’ve always said “There live not three good men unhanged in SUDS: and one of them is a producer” (King Henry IV… sort of)

Lily Belden | Publicity Officer (They/she)

Annabel Johnson | Publicity Officer (She/her)

Hiiiiii! I’m one of your publicity officers this year and I am so so excited to meet you all. I’m Annabel (or Annie) and I’m a third year TaPS student (with a minor in film studies) and I’ve been involved in SUDS since 2024. Since joining I’ve made some of my closest friends here, I’ve grown to fall in love with the society and I hope you do too. I’ve acted in and produced a handful of shows here and hope to do even more in the coming year. If you see me around, don’t hesitate to say hello and I’ll do my very best to answer any questions you may have about the society (although I may pass you on to our archivist, Coll…). I can’t wait to hopefully see you all around!

Finlay Mitchell | Cellar Officer (he/him)

Hey there! My name is Finlay, I’m a first year TaPS and Ancient History student and I will be one of your Cellar Officers for this year! SUDS has been an amazing opportunity for me and other first years to get involved with and even lead student theatre, so I’m giving back to this wonderful community by helping to maintain our beautiful (though modest) Cellar Theatre. Over this first year, I’ve had the ability to write and direct my first show with SUDS and I’m looking forward to many more. The Cellar Officers will be your show’s port of call on all matters Cellar-related and we will all be there to support your show to the best of our abilities (unless you start me on the Diadochi, then I will become utterly useless as I explain the collapse of Alexander the Great’s empire).

Maya Yoneda Hutchings | Cellar Officer + Social Secretary (they/any)

Michael Križan | Social Secretary (he/him)

Bello! You can call me Michael, for that is my name, I study PPE (Politics, Philosophy & Economics).

I have three IV drips attached to me at all times: one is dance, one is writing and the other is THEATRE! If you like Aussie stories, original work, or have some crazy ideas brewing - you should def come say bello to me!

As a social secretary I run events like Play With Your Food, Theatre Workshops, the Reviewing Program, Coffee & Pub Catch-Ups, Screenings and, SUDS Attends Nights to make sure loud theatre kids, curious theatre kids, and non-theatre kids can all hang out and be #social. Can’t wait to get #social in 2026, so if you want to be #social, join SUDS and be #social with me.

Coll Ruadh Burns | Archivist + Festivals Officer (He/they)

Hiya! I’m Coll, a 3rd year Linguistics and TaPS student and, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it looks like I’m double-parked! I can’t wait to be both your Festivals officer, working with the rest of Exec to bring you some engaging or helpful events throughout the year, and your archivist, making sure each show goes down in SUDS history (a history I’d like to start making more accessible this year!). In my time at SUDS I’ve directed, acted, produced, sound designed, accent coached, dramaturged, and even played in the band for a musical! And even though I’m a great lover of tea, you will likely more often spy me desperately clinging to a can of monster for dear life. Next time you see me, ask me what my favourite consonant from the International Phonetic Alphabet is! (It changes very frequently)

P.S. Whether historic or festive in nature, please feel free to email me at sudsthewash@gmail.com!
